Discover two millennia of chequered history, countless engineering innovations and see the cultural renaissance that is transforming the city.
Highlights typically include: a unique way to see the city, explore hidden gems among the urban landscape and enjoy tales of the cities past, present and future.

FAQs
Where and when do I meet the guide?
Your guide will meet you at the entrance to Newcastle City Marina (opposite The Slug & Lettuce bar on Newcastle Quayside).
What will I see and do?
After a health & safety brief from your guide, we’ll launch our kayaks from Newcastle City Marina. Tours always start with a kayak skills lesson on the water. Depending on the tide and the flow of the river, we’ll head east to the Millennium Bridge and Ouseburn or west towards Dunston Staithes. Your guide will interpret the cityscape as you paddle with occasional stops for tales of the city and to take pictures.
The latter half of the tour is usually when we ‘go with the flow’ of the river, so you can just relax and take it all in. Tours last around two hours.
Who is this tour suitable for?
This tour is suitable for adults and children 16yrs+ when accompanied by their parent / legal guardian. You should be comfortable around the water and able to swim a minimum of 25m. You should also be generally fit, healthy and able to undertake moderate exercise without difficulty.
