HIRES

At CBK Adventures, safety is our top priority. Every hire session begins with a full health & safety briefing tailored to the day’s conditions. Our team will make informed recommendations and in some cases, may apply restrictions to ensure participant safety.

We provide all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) to keep you as safe as possible during your session. This includes buoyancy aids and wetsuits. We only use premium equipment to ensure you have the best experience possible. Our paddleboards are from Red Paddle Co., kayaks are from Tootega, wetsuits and bodyboards are from Alder and buoyancy aids by Yak.

Explore the North East coast at your own pace with our two hour sessions.

Stand Up Paddleboarding

Lightweight and user-friendly, our Red Paddle Co. SUPs are great for exploring the coast and learning new skills.

The feeling of being on stand up paddleboard is unexplainable. Feel the water beneath your feet, see unrestricted 360º views and enjoy the challenge of using fine balance and coordination skills as you explore the coast. It takes a little longer to master the basics on a SUP than on a kayak, but the rewards are most definitely worth it. It’s like walking on water.

Options available: Red Ride 10’6 or Red Ride 10’8. Our Tandem SUP is the 15’0 Red Voyager.
We recommend the 10’8 if you’re over 6’ tall or weigh more than 90kg.

The legal bit: As with all adventure activities, there is always an element of risk and stand up paddleboarding is an ‘assumed risk water sports activity’. This means there are some inherent risks associated with this activity including but not limited to: physical effort, likelihood of falling off the board, risk of entrapment, cold water shock, risks associated with medical conditions and drowning.

Sit On Kayaks

The ultimate user-friendly kayak, sit-on’s are the new wave in kayaking.

Very stable, ideal for beginners and great for exploring, these are the most popular boat we hire. Oh, and if you do fall off, just hop back on. Magic!

Options available: Tootega Pulse 95 single kayak or Tootega Pulse 120 tandem kayak.

Where can I explore?

Cullercoats Bay offers a sheltered environment to explore, especially on the high tide. You launch from a gently sloping beach and beyond that there are rocky shores, caves (on high tide) and deeper water areas to explore too. On good weather days you can explore north towards Whitley Bay and south towards Tynemouth. We’ll always advise where it is best to paddle on the day.
