St Mary's Island
As well as being home to the iconic lighthouse, St Mary’s Island is also a local nature reserve. It provides a unique habitat for many species of coastal birds and an important haul-out site for grey seals.
Catching a glimpse of the seals in their natural habitat may be possible, however, it is important to us that we protect the wildlife around us to ensure they continue to thrive and we will always remain a recommended distance away from their haul-out points so that the experience is enjoyable for all concerned. The area also provides an opportunity to see a wide variety of bird life as well as superb views of the lighthouse and North East coast.
Price: £69 per person.
Suitable for: Adults and children from 16yrs*
* Children under 18yrs must be accompanied on the water at all times across all activities, by their parent / legal guardian.

FAQs
Where and when do I meet the Guide?
You’ll meet your guide at the Ocean View car park in Whitley Bay where you will get changed into your wetsuit. We recommend coming ready with your shorts or swimming costume underneath your clothes. CBK Adventures pop-up changing facilities will be made available.
What will I see and do?
Tours always start with a kayak skills refresher. After that, we head north keeping a safe distance to minimise disturbance, hopefully catching a glimpse of the wildlife around and about the island.
How do you minimise environmental disturbance?
The sensitivity of the local environment is at the forefront of our mind from the design to the delivery of our kayak experiences and we are extra cautious to minimise disturbance to the wildlife at St Mary’s Island.
